Corruption is one of the main obstacles in social, economic and political transformation. It’s mainly rooted deeply in some developing countries as a big problem. Some forms of corruptions are bribery, extortion, cronyism, nepotism, patronage, gift, kickbacks, unholy alliance, embezzlement etc. These all measures of corruption are growing under mainly political and bureaucratic powers. Political corruption is the use of legislated powers by politician for illegitimate private gain. In some countries the culture of corruption extends to every aspect of public life, making it extremely difficult for individuals to stay in business without resorting to bribes which is often difficult to prove.

The activities that constitute illegal corruption differ depending on the country or jurisdiction. Certain political funding practices that are legal in one place may be illegal in another. In some countries, government officials have broad or poorly defined powers, and the line between what is legal and illegal can be difficult to draw.
Corruption effects in various sector in the society. These are the some direct effects created by corruption given below.
Effects on Economic sector: Corruption undermines economic development by generating considerable distortions and inefficiency. In the privet sector, corruption increases the cost of business through the price of illicit payments themselves, the management cost of negotiating with officials, and the risk of breached agreements or detection. Where corruption inflates the cost of business, it also distorts the playing field, shielding firms with connections from competition and thereby sustaining inefficient firms. Corruption also generates economic distortions in the public sector by diverting public investment into capital projects where bribes and kickbacks are more plentiful.
Effects on political sector: In the political realm, it undermines democracy and good governance by flouting or even subverting formal processes. Corruption in elections and in legislative bodies reduces accountability and distorts representation in policymaking; corruption in the judiciary compromises the rule of law; and corruption in public administration results in the unfair provision of services.
Effects on Social Sector: Corruption destroys the norms of social transformation. If it is not institutionalized in the society, social changes can be happened rapidly. It destructs social peace and harmony. It is proved by history that, one of the causes of the conflict is corruption. Mainly, violent activities are occurred in corrupted regime than other. It makes a vast difference between newly rich families (By Corruption) and poor families creating social conflict.
Effects on judiciary: Corruption directly affects the justice system where it is rooted deeply in the judiciary. It defects the main principle of justice. It’s said, no justice can be done if there is corruption.
There are some causes behind the Corruption. These are ; weak civil service, and slow pace of reform, weak rule of law, weak legal profession, weak judicial independence, lacking protection of whistleblowers, weak accounting practices, including lack of timely financial management, lack of government transparency, lack of government’s control etc are some of the causes of corruption. If the Government improves the following lacks (causes) given above, corruption can be controlled effectively. State should make a strong policy against the corruption and all acts of corruption should bring under punishment. State only can control corruption making strong judicial system as well as investigation process.
